Gabriel García Minguela was born in March of 1997 in Mayaguez, Puerto Rico, and
resided in Hormigueros, Puerto Rico. In 2015, he graduated from high school and decided
to study film because he always took random pictures with his father's camera as a child.
When he got older, he had his camera and started editing the photos and videos on his
home computer as a hobby. In 2015, Gabriel graduated from high school and decided to
take a one-month workshop in New York 2015, an institution called "NYFA New York Film
Academy." He learned a lot about various editing programs like Avid Media Composer,
Davinci Resolve, Photoshop. When he returned to Puerto Rico, He did an Associate
Degree in Computer and Network Sciences at the Mayaguez Banking Institute (2015-
2016). In the (2016 -2017) made a certificate in Digital Video Editing. During his university
years, he started participating in several events as a photographer for the "ECO
magazine" at the "Direct TV: Faciuni Festival" event, Volunteer for preparation of the
events of "Alliance Francesa de Puerto Rico 8th European Film Fest" and worked as a
camera assistant in the production of "Angeles del-fin, Inc. Carlos González Jr", name of
the film named "Canas y Arrugas open books."
In May 2018, he got a Digital Video editing certificate; after a few months, he received a
call for an interview, got accepted, and started working temporarily on "BBO Presentation
LLC: Audiovisual Consultant "as an assistant editor. In 2018 Gabriel started his first year
at Atlantic University College in Guaynabo, Puerto Rico. During the first year, he validated
some of his credits from his prior degrees and adapted quickly. Since he already knew
several pre and post productions, he manages to keep up with the more advanced class.
He is always learning on his own and likes to participate in various projects with his
colleagues. Gabriel says "that it is good to collaborate with others because we never know
when we need help on a project someone.
Furthermore, he will always be willing to collaborate on anything he can do." Gabriel is a
person who knows that he does not have vast filmography, but he has experiences with
other film productions. That gives him the advantages of what to do or not to do in the
show, there are always mistakes he can make, but the important thing is to make mistakes
and learn from them. In 2021 Gabriel is going to graduates with a "Bachelor's Degree in
Digital Cinematography Sciences". After he gets his degree, he wants to gain experience
working in the U.S.A film industry. During his experience as a university student and with
a little help from his past and present mentors, he has improved, developed skills and
knowledge to use a camera, and started his film production from scratch. The only way
to fulfill his goals as a filmmaker is to keep dreaming and work hard to fulfill his dreams
as a professional filmmaker.
